Meet Building Contractors United
Building Contractors United is a woman-owned general contractor in Zelienople, PA, founded in 2024. Owner Olivia Minarik leads business planning and development, and Construction Manager JT Minarik handles estimates, contracts and change orders while leading the work in the field with hands-on experience dating back to 2009.

Why we started BCU
BCU exists to give property owners north of Pittsburgh a contractor they can actually reach. Olivia Minarik owns the company and leads business planning and development, so BCU stays organized, accountable and built to last. When you call, you get a straight answer and a clear plan.
JT Minarik prepares every estimate and quote, writes the contracts and manages change orders, and he leads the work in the field. He has been hands-on in construction since 2009, and he runs every site to the same standard: do it right the first time, keep the site clean, and keep the owner informed.
We handle nearly every trade outside of plumbing, HVAC and electrical. Excavation and commercial construction sit at the core of what we do, and we are equally strong on residential new builds and complete remodels. From the Route 19 and Route 228 corridor around Cranberry Township to the hillsides and clay soils of Butler County, we build for the ground we actually stand on.
Our promise
Four commitments, on every job, in writing.
We show up when we say we will.
You get a schedule you can plan around, and a call before anything changes.
We price it honestly, up front.
Written estimates with the scope spelled out. No surprise line items at the end.
We build it to last for decades.
Proper footings, proper drainage, proper flashing. The parts you cannot see are the parts we care about most.
We stand behind it for two years.
Every project carries a 2-year workmanship warranty. If something we built is not right, we come back and fix it.
What we stand for
Integrity
We tell you what the job needs, what it costs, and what could go wrong, before you sign.
Craftsmanship
We build to the drawings and to the code, and we do not cut corners where nobody is looking.
Accountability
One point of contact owns the schedule, the budget, and the answer to your question.
Local pride
We live and work here. Our name is on every job across Butler County and greater Pittsburgh.
It is how JT has run job sites since 2009, and it is how every BCU project is built, from the first shovel to the final walkthrough.
Insured, registered, accountable
BCU is a registered Pennsylvania contractor, fully insured, and we put our warranty in writing.
- Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor registration PA HIC #PA193140
- General liability and workers' compensation insurance
- 2-year workmanship warranty on every project
- Woman-owned business
Safety on every site
Every BCU site is kept organized, safe and clean. On excavation and site work, erosion and sediment controls stay in place and maintained for the life of the project, in line with conservation district E&S plans and PA DEP NPDES requirements where disturbance passes one acre.
Township building departments see the same thing from us every time: permits pulled before work starts, inspections scheduled on time, and a site that is safe for the people working on it and the neighbors next door.
The people behind the work
BCU is a small team by design. You will know everyone who works on your project.

Olivia Minarik
Olivia Minarik founded Building Contractors United in 2024 and leads the company's business planning and development. She sets the direction for how BCU grows, which clients and projects it takes on, and how it stays organized and accountable as the team expands. BCU is woman-owned, fully insured, and built on honest, up-front pricing, so clients hear about any change before it happens instead of finding it on the final invoice.

John (JT) Minarik
John "JT" Minarik prepares every BCU estimate and quote, writes the contracts and manages change orders, so the person pricing your job is the same person who builds it. He has hands-on construction experience dating back to 2009, commercial building is his specialty, and he leads the work in the field from excavation and framing through structure and finish. BCU handles nearly every trade outside of plumbing, HVAC and electrical, and JT calls before anything on the plan changes. He and his wife, Owner Olivia Minarik, run BCU together.
Where we work
BCU is based in Zelienople and works within about a one-hour radius of Pittsburgh, from Grove City and Slippery Rock in the north to Bridgeville, South Fayette and Venetia in the south. Most of our work is in Butler County, including Zelienople, Harmony, Cranberry Township and Butler.
